Why IT Matters?
Beginnings are hard.
I’ve written blogs in the past on my personal homepage at www.billyemartinjr.com, about current IT musings, but at the time it was difficult to keep up in light of everything else I had going on at the time. I’ve been giving it some thought, and after subscribing to a number of other newsletters and blogs I decided it was time to throw my hat back in the ring and resurrect this interactive side of me to informally put some thoughts out there, share some ideas, introduce folks to other great writers I follow, sites I watch, and/or books I read.
I’ve subscribed to several writers that use Substack and I’m just really impressed by the format and community and decided that if I’m going to write, this is the platform I should be using.
Through this medium I will be posting my thoughts on all things IT, Information Security, cryptography, crypto currency and AI amongst other topics. I expect to post at least a couple times a week, but I don’t think I can commit to a daily post just yet. When I have enough observations to pass on that I think will add sufficient value to my readers’ lives, I’ll post.
I’m going to start out allowing chat following each post as I believe I’ll be able to monitor it via this platform and control the trolls and distractors, but we’ll see.
Everything will be free to start and likely for quite some time until I can prove to myself and to my readers that the content is either something they really enjoy or really need in their lives.
So, that’s about it for now. I’ll have my first post out in the next day or so (though I don’t have any subscribers yet so when ya’ll do come on board you’ll likely get to read several of my posts before getting up to current). Thanks for taking this journey with me as I attempt to create a community of like-minded geeks, nerds, technologists, and those passionate about what we do because IT Matters.
